As minimum wage increases build momentum around the country, there’s a lot of discussion about how these wage increases could force many small businesses to close their doors.
Right here in Florida, attorney John Morgan plans to push a constitutional amendment to raise the state’s minimum wage to $15 an hour. And there’s a good chance the measure, which would nearly double Florida’s current minimum wage, could appear on voters’ ballots in 2020.
For business owners, while this may seem daunting at first, don’t let this initiative scare you. From our experience working with restaurants around the country, a higher minimum wage doesn’t have to be the end of your business if you are proactive about it.
